Sam Cassell Jr. To Visit UW

Sam Cassell Jr., son of former NBA guard Sam Cassell, is planning an official visit to UW in the next coming month. He told me he is really looking forward to his visit to the Huskies and that a date wasn’t determined yet but the details are being worked out right now.

Cassell lists ten schools as ones he is interested in; Maryland, Washington, Villanova, TCU, Butler, Arkansas, Clemson, Missouri, South Florida, and Florida State.

According to NBEbasketball.com, Butler is the one to keep an eye on. He really likes the way he would fit in with the Bulldogs and plans to use an official visit on a trip to see Brad Stevens and Butler University.

He plays the point guard position, but similar to Tony Wroten Jr., as a bigger body. He is listed at 6’4, 170 and loves to take advantage of the mismatch. He can take it to the hoop or shoot from 3. He also loves to setup his teammates for the assist.

This is a story to keep an eye on because Cassell does seem fairly interested in UW and the location of the college isn’t going to determine where he goes. He is looking for a good fit for him. A place where he feels like he can make an impact.

Note: Paul Fortier is really going after Shabazz Muhammad, the number 1 recruit in 2012.
