Future Husky: Connor Cree
By Mark Knight
Height– 6’5
Weight– 220
Position– Defensive End
HS Stats– According to Maxpreps.com, Cree in his senior year, at Skyline High School in Sammamish WA, had 53 tackles, 3 sacks, and 4 forced fumbles.
Style of Play– He plays hard, and ESPN describes him as having a constant motor with the ability to be explosive at times.
Strengths– He tends to do a lot of things well at his position, and being as tall as he is, can use his length to disrupt the passing lanes. He also uses his long arms as a separation from offensive line-man.
Weaknesses– He is very lanky and skinny, he needs to begin to work on bulking up for the next level. At the next level all the line-man will be just as tall as him, and bigger in weight. When it comes to being on the field, he has the potential to be great, just needs to put in the work off the field to really make that happen.
Potential– He is rated as a 3 star prospect and has the potential and if given the time can become a solid defensive player on the field. I wouldn’t be surprised if they moved him out of defensive end, but he does have the ability to stay there if needed.
Projected Usage- He needs a red-shirt year and then a year on the depth chart while he bulks up and learns the system.
