By Mark Knight
Height– 6’2
Weight– 200
Position– Safety
HS Stats– According to Scout.com, Zeger while playing in his senior year, at Bishop Gormon in Las Vegas, had 61 tackles, 7 interceptions, and 2 of those went for touchdowns.
Style of Play– He has the ability to play all over the field. Can help in run support or in the passing attack. He is aggressive to the ball. (ESPN)
Strengths– Flashes explosive ability, and has good closing speed on the ball carrier. His size and speed support a great combo at the safety position. His 7 interceptions in his senior year shows that he knows how to get to ball while it’s in the air.(ESPN)
Weaknesses– Like many young safeties he has still lacks some agile movement in his body to change direction quickly and thus may lose quick and agile ball-carriers. He also needs to work on his matchup in coverage. Plays better in space than he does man-on-man. (ESPN)
Potential– He is rated as a 3 star prospect and has the ability given some time to be able to become a starting safety at the college level.
Projected Usage- He should find himself buried in the depth chart his first couple of years.
