Future Husky: Taniela Tupou Profile
By Mark Knight
Height– 6’2
Weight– 260
Position– Defensive End
HS Stats
– His senior year he totaled 24 tackles with 21 of them being solo tackles. He had 4 sacks on the season and 2 fumble recoveries.
Style of Play– He is strong and plays strong.
Strengths– He is a forceful talent, with plenty of raw tools that will help him at the next level. He has the ability to really be a strong talent at UW with his ability to engage blockers and disengage blockers.
Weaknesses– He needs to work on some of his power in his lower body, to push off more frequently and with better consistency. Needs to work on his speed and explosiveness.
Potential– He is rated as a 4 star prospect and given a year or two could find himself in a staring role on the UW defense.
Projected Usage- He will probably either be a red-shirt his freshman year or used as depth along the line. He may be able to play in games here and there throughout the season but don’t look for the announcer to be calling his name until he has developed and learned the defense. He is going to be an amazing defensive line-man if he lives up to his potential by year 2 or 3.
