The Talent is There
By Mark Knight
The Huskies just went toe to toe with a number two seed in North Carolina, and if they played to their potential they should have won. To be clear: UNC did not beat UW but the Huskies beat themselves. They turned the ball over too much and gave away too many fouls.
The outcry of both Husky Nation and many national viewers are upset at the final call, saying there should be more time on the clock. Giving the Huskies 1.5 seconds instead of 0.5 seconds, and with that time-there might have been a game tying three. However, the Huskies put themselves in that point, they could have easily been the team ahead.
Of course the refs should always make sure the call is right, but that doesn’t mean that the Huskies didn’t throw the game away through fouls and turnovers. The Huskies were the better team if they played up to their potential. They allowed UNC to win and they allowed the refs to have the opportunity to decide the game in the final seconds.
Though like true Husky fans, we turn to next year. Isaiah Thomas has already said he is coming back and we bring in one of the best point guards in the nation, along with a couple other highly touted recruits.
Husky Nation created a twitter buzz around Husky recruiting within minutes after the loss to UNC because we know we will be back, and next year just may be the year!
