Matchup: This game is a crucial game for a few reasons:
1. This is the first time all season that the Huskies are playing a team that has already beaten them. The only other time this will happen is against Washington State at the end of the regular season. Thus, they need to bounce back from that disappointing performance earlier this year and their very first Pac-10 loss that led to a few more similar to it.
2. There will be three recruits visiting, two (Tony Wroten Jr. and Hikeem Stewart) have already committed and signed their letter of intent. One, in Angelo Chol has yet to make a decision and is planning on announcing on Feb. 17. If you look in the previous post you will notice how important it is to sign Chol. All three need to see the Husky team we saw vs Cal a few days ago and not the Husky team we saw at Oregon State or at Stanford.
3. The Pac-10 standings are so tight that the Huskies really need to execute when they are at home to ensure they are able to have a shot at still being regular season Pac-10 champion.
The matchup to watch for tonight is how focused the Huskies look, the last time these two teams met, the Huskies looked lost. They looked disjointed and unfocused, this was the game they were dealing with Abdul Gaddy’s injury and with a player accused of rape. This was a game like Oregon State in which UW beat themselves more than Stanford beat them.
If UW can come out and play fast, and play aggressive, this game should go to the Huskies.
