UW Back in the AP Poll – #23

After being shut out of the polls for a few weeks, the Huskies have found their way back to the #23 ranking in the AP Polls. They are still unranked in the ESPN Polls, but are right on the cusp. An LA sweep over two of the hottest Pac-10 teams definitely merited a boost in the rankings.

Although rankings don’t matter as much this early in the season, it is good for the Pac-1o to get some kind of notoriety around the nation. Especially when you consider that a team that is 7-6 (OSU) is the co-leader out of the gates. UW will need to continue to dominate and stay hungry in order to run away with this title.

UW faces off against a struggling Oregon Duck squad on Thursday night and then squares off with co-Pac 10 leader, Oregon State on Saturday. The Huskies are riding a wave of confidence right and now and can ill afford to look past these games, especially the Beavers who are fresh off a sweep of the Arizona schools.
