The season has already started, but we are not losing sight of recruiting by any means. According to Zagsblog and Husky Digest, Norvel Pelle, the four star center, will be in the UW house this weekend to watch UW take on McNeese State. Coming off a good trip to St. John’s this weekend, Steve Lavin was unable to lock Pelle into a commit on the visit, which is great news for UW.

We are hearing that Pelle will ultimately make his decision after his visit to Seattle this weekend. From the looks of things, he will likely be deciding between UW and St. Johns. He is looking to sign with a school in the early Fall signing period in late November.

In case you have forgotten how Norvel plays, feast your eyes on this and try not to get over excited:

Player Profile:

  • Height: 6’8″
  • Position: C/PF
  • School: Frederick K C Price HS
  • Location: Los Angeles, CA

Playing Style: To be completely honest, one word comes to mind when it comes to Norvel: BEAST. He is by far the most athletic big man that UW has on their short list of targets. In terms of his post presence, we hear that he has unlimited upside, but may be a work in progress in the short term. Looking at how UW has developed the post presence of players like MBA and Jon Brockman, one has to be excited on how we could develop Norvel. With the departure of MBA next season, UW desperately needs a big man to fulfill our post needs. He is quick, agile and athletic. He can run the floor with the best of them and his vertical leap is through the roof. And oh yes, the kid is a shot blocking fiend. He has a keen sense for timing his leap on the defensive end. He could soon be joining the block party with Aziz next season.
