Preview: Washington State has a solid offense, but they are headlined by Taylor Ard and Derek Jones who have combined for 21 of their 30 homeruns on the year and lead the team in nearly every other offensive category. If Husky arms can contain this power combo, the Washington State offense should be relatively ineffective.
On the other hand, the Cougars’ pitching staff has been less than stellar this year, as their starting pitchers have posted ERAs of 2.55, 4.35, 4.56, and 5.98. Their bullpen has been worse. If the Dawgs can score runs, they should have no trouble taking the Apple Cup series from their in-state rivals.
