Perris Blackwell and Jordan Tebbutt Visiting Washington

Lorenzo Romar and the Washington Huskies have a couple visitors in town this weekend and the rumors are running wild as the Spring signing period comes into full affect.

UW is looking not only into the 2012 recruiting class but also into players that are transferring out of other programs.

There have been multiple confirmations that 2012 6’5, Small Forward, Jordan Tebbutt from Oak Hill Academy is on his official visit at Washington. He is rated as a four-star prospect and played on an undefeated high school team that was ranked amongst the top in the country all year. Here is a youtube video of him from OregonLive.com.

Left Coast Recruiting on twitter mentioned that USF transfer Perris Blackwell is also on campus.

Blackwell is one of six USF transfers that are looking for a new home. As of now, it looks like he may have to sit out a year but there is speculation that he may not. San Francisco has six players leaving the program, Blackwell was a Junior and thus would only have one year left to play. The indication is there may be a reason for the mass exodus.

He will be looking for a way to play right away and Romar would be more likely to go for a big guy that can play immediately as UW is looking to have a big 2013 recruiting class. This is something to keep an eye on.

Blackwell is 6’9, and plays back to the basket. He averaged 12.7 points and 6.1 rebounds a game last season for the Dons. He is known for his offensive ability.

The craziest rumor from the evening is the series of tweets by Dave Telep. He said that 7’0 Center Robert Upshaw is announcing his college decision this Sunday. The twist is that Upshaw is on that school’s campus for his official visit this weekend, the final twist is that Telep doesn’t know which college it is. UW did have interest in him, but as far as I have heard no one on the UW campus has seen Upshaw. However, no final confirmation on that front but the consensus is Upshaw is not there.
