Peter Sirmon (UTsports.com)

Age: 34

Hometown: Wenatchee, Washington

College: University of Oregon

Playing Career: Sirmon was a very productive linebacker at Oregon, he made the First-Team Pac-12 as a senior. He then was drafted in 2000 by the Tennessee Titans in the 4th round. He went on to play 7 seasons for the Titans, playing in 81 games with 343 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 5 sacks, and 4 interceptions.

Coaching Career: He started his coaching career at Central Washington University as linebackers coach and kickoff coverage team assistant. He then went back to his alma mater, Oregon, as a graduate assistant. Where he helped them get to a Rose Bowl appearance in 2009. In his last stop he was hired alongside his former roommate and friend Justin Wicox to help him as the linebackers coach at the University of Tennessee.

UTsports.com says this about their friendship:

A teammate and roomate from his Oregon days was Justin Wilcox, Tennessee’s second-year defensive coordinator.

“Justin and I have a really strong relationship,” Sirmon says. “I think we can both talk frankly with each other and understand that it’s work.”

Pros: He is known for his ability to recruit. He comes in as one of the best recruiters for the University of Washington. He made this reputation mainly at Tennessee even though he is from the Pacific Northwest. Thus, his ability to recruit on the West Coast should be even stronger than in the South.

Cons: Unknown.
