Huskies Offer 2014 Justin Jackson

The Huskies are quietly extending offers to a handful of recruits around the nation. There are 3 that the Husky Haul staff know of; Parker Jackson-Cartwright from Los Angeles, Josh Martin out of Seattle Prep, and now we have learned that Justin Jackson of Houston, Texas is also on this list.

Jackson is easily one of the top players in his class. Scout.com has him as #12 in the nation (at any position) and ESPN as #9. He is listed as a Small Forward/Shooting Guard and is 6’6 and 195 pounds. He has grown around two inches in the last couple of years and continues to grow and put on weight as he develops into an exceptional prospect.

He has been picking up interest from all over the country; he already holds offers from Texas, Texas A&M, Baylor, Ohio State, Washington, and has big-time interest from a lot of the top programs. Duke has been calling as well as UCONN, North Carolina, Kansas, and more.

Is he even interested in Washington? Jackson said,

“As always, I’m interested in every school.”

While he is no where near deciding on a school, he did describe his ideal school as, “[A school with] good academics, good tradition, and obviously a good basketball program.” Therefore, don’t count UW out just yet.

Jackson is a true talent especially on the offensive end of the floor. He has a pure shooting stroke and can score with ease almost anywhere on the court. When asked to described his game, he said, “I would say I’m a scorer but am a balanced player overall.”

One of the most impressive aspects of Jackson’s hype is that it is not generated out of a particular high profile program or because of another super-star on his team. He doesn’t go to a 4A or 5A high school in Texas, in fact, he is home-schooled and he plays with other home schooled basketball players on a team called “Homeschool Christian Youth Association.”

His basketball skills have helped him play with Team USA, all the way up to U17. (In AAU he plays for Houston Hoops.) He has been called a must get in the class of 2014 by many of the top programs in the country. Lorenzo Romar has placed Jackson as a priority and will be looking for him this summer on the AAU circuit.
